Terms of Service

Effective 26 August 2026

Welcome to AutoBuzz. These terms are a real agreement between you and AutoBuzz, but we've written them the way we write everything: in plain language. If anything is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.

1. What AutoBuzz is (and isn't)

AutoBuzz is a marketplace. Sellers, whether individuals or car yards, list cars and spare parts; buyers browse, reserve and buy. AutoBuzz is not the seller. The sale contract for a car or part is between the buyer and the seller. We verify sellers' identities and require payment before a listing goes live, which filters out most bad actors, but we do not inspect vehicles or parts and cannot guarantee their condition.

Always view a car or part in person before paying its full price. The reservation deposit exists precisely so you can do that without losing the vehicle to another buyer.

2. Seller accounts

To sell, you register an account with accurate details: your real name or business name, a working phone number, and your town. Impersonating another person or business is grounds for immediate suspension. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password private.

The “Verified seller” badge means AutoBuzz staff have checked the seller's identity documents. It is a trust signal, not a guarantee of any individual listing.

3. Listings and fees

A listing becomes publicly visible only after the publish fee is paid via M-Pesa. Current fees are always shown before you pay. The publish fee buys the listing service itself, so once a listing has gone live the fee is not refundable, including when the item sells quickly or the seller removes it. If a payment settles but the listing fails to go live, we fix it or refund the fee.

Listings must be truthful: real photos of the actual item, honest mileage and condition, and a price you will actually sell at. Prohibited: stolen vehicles or parts, items you don't have the right to sell, counterfeit parts sold as genuine, and anything illegal under Kenyan law. We may suspend or remove any listing that breaks these rules, without refunding its fees.

4. Reservations (the 48-hour hold)

Paying a reservation deposit holds a car for you for 48 hours: the listing shows “Reserved” and nobody else can reserve it. The deposit is refundable if the car is materially not as described (wrong mileage, undisclosed damage, or the seller cannot produce the logbook) or if the seller fails to make the car available for viewing within the hold period. If you simply change your mind after viewing a car that matched its listing, the deposit compensates the seller for holding it. Refund requests go to us, not the seller. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

5. Buying parts

Parts checkout pays the seller's asking price via M-Pesa. The seller receives your name and phone number and is responsible for delivery or pickup as agreed between you. If a part never arrives or is not what was listed, report it to us within 7 days and we will pursue it with the seller, including suspension and, where the facts support it, refund of your payment.

6. Payments

All payments run through M-Pesa via our payment provider. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN. M-Pesa transaction limits apply (currently KES 70,000 per payment). A payment is only complete when M-Pesa confirms it. A screenshot is not a payment.

7. Reporting and enforcement

Anyone can report a listing, no account needed. We review every report. Depending on what we find we may remove listings, withhold the Verified badge, suspend accounts, or involve the authorities. We act in good faith on the information available and are not liable to sellers for removals made on reasonable grounds.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent Kenyan law allows: AutoBuzz provides the platform “as is”, and our total liability to you for any claim connected to the platform is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for the conduct of buyers or sellers, the condition of items, or losses from deals concluded outside the platform.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes are announced on the site with a new effective date, and continued use means acceptance. You may close your account at any time; live listings end with it and fees already spent on published listings are not refunded.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes belong to the courts of Kenya. Questions, refund requests and notices: [email protected]. Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
